THE GENESIS OF BUBULO SEC. SCHOOL.*
A PlaCard With Old Students
Bubulo Secondary school was established in 1983 as Community school in partnership with the Anglican Church Diocese of Mbale and the Government of Uganda.
The school was birthed out of the an idea that was hatched by one of the founding fathers Canon Edward Sezi Mungati who was then a PTA Chairman of Bubulo Girls High School after getting the outcry of parents after a fees increment, a proposal was laid to start a mixed agenda institution with the low cost education to the children from low economic background since most of the few secondary schools at a time were boarding.
In 1982, Bubulo girls' high school greened as the only noble school in South Bugisu subregion, It was seen as gender insensitive because of its humble beginning.
Because of high demand to elevate education standards across both gender.
On that good day during the PTA Annual General Meeting at Bubulo Girls in 1982, a revelation was made by the son of the soil that had seen the purpose of raising education standards but at a lower cost to the community children.
Its was at this time when Mr. Edward Seith Mungati as a Provincial Education Secreatry, stood out as a Chartered Valuer and Surveyor who led a team that lobbied for the eatblishment of Bubulo Secondary School.
It was through his ability that the proposal stood a test of time, this attracted the other two well wishers to join hands in attribution towards the establishment of Bubulo Secondary School.
In 1983. Mungati, Wadombele and Wabwoba spearheaded the acquisition of a classroom block at Bubulo Mixed Primary School which housed the school for 2 years until in 1985 thereafter shifting to its current location with 3 classroom block, setting a pace for the start up.
The block currently houses Senior four students with three stream labels.
Through the years, the school has produced learners who have sowed into different careers and professionals locally and globally.
