Albenism With Life Changing Facts, Highlighted!

In 2010, the people living with Albenism started as a community Based Services with indicative challenges to be addressed, shortly after four years, it was elevated to non government organization in 2015 cutting across 10 districts in Bugisu and Sebai sub regions.
 
Over 80 people living with Albenism in Mbale district had an engagement meeting at Bungokho Subcounty Headquarters' hall to discuss pressing issues with the district technical staff most especially those that are part of the special needs.
Several issues were partinently raised right from communities with Albenism.

Negesa Elizabeth, the executive director for the elgon sub region stated that the challenges affecting people with Albenism have greatly caused many to drop out of school because of stigma and description by teachers and fellow children in schools.

Several other scenarios were brought on board while discussing those on the forefront, some health workers were mentioned with negative health perception on the people living with Albenism which
had a marginalized mind towards such services.
Negesa appealed to profound authorities for assistance to enable them get equal access to services. These people you are seeing are sexually active but sometimes abused by some perpetuars who are never brought to books leaving them as single mothers. She expressed gratitude to the police department on recent cases underlaying Albenism as fairly treated.

The executive director guaranteed on the call that societies identified with Albenism will have key players in policy making inline with life changing values.

Whereas most people living with Albenism are unable to read and write, this drives us to active participation to ensure adhesive mindset change is adopted to address areas of sustainability amongst themselves. This was also observed!

Negesa says that once community schools with Albenism are piloted and given support to manage such cases, the rest remains assurance of positive living.
" Some of our children are not given much attention by classroom teachers on areas of eye sight, readability and writing". She says efforts to bridge the cap between parents and classroom teachers is highly anticipated because this in the end will reduce on the setbacks.

Mafabi Bwayila, a father of 12 children including one albino, shared a snapshot of the daughter's relationship with her siblings as being perfect but lamented on the costly life experience in terms of necessities. " My daughter Kainza Sumayah faces personal needs because her entire life is too delicate!"
He appealed to the government and partners dealing with such social aspects to double efforts and reach out to valnerable individuals under the program.

Ayebare Racheal, the programs officer for people living with Albenism in her response pointed the strategy to sensitize stakeholders in various institutions on how to manage effects on Albenism in those communities.
"We want to include teachers on how to prioritize the needs of learners through training so that our children come and participate in different developmental initiatives to better their lives.
