Training Of YLP And UWEP Beneficiaries In Financial Management FY 2025/2026

A number of Youths and Women partaking  in Youth livelihood and women entrepreneurship programs in Mbale district trained in financial management underscored by beneficiaries. Over 120 beneficiaries including 10 youth and 13 women groups were approved for more funding from the Ministry of Gender, labour and social development in this financial year.

Each group is expected to earn between 2-12 million shillings depending on the timely repayment plans, most beneficiaries prioritize in produce, farming,  charcoal brickets, Boda Boda riding and retail vending.

Nekesa Harriet, the Principal community development officer, says most women receiving money, must implement on the enterprises selected to reflect the budgetary recalls. They should use the money given to do the prioritised activities at all levels realising dreams come true.
Over 130 million shillings have been realised by the Government for refinancing groups who paid back loans on time and additional groups coming on board.
Juliet Cheptoek, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer in her remarks emphasized the need to pay back loans on time citing worst tendencies by beneficiaries across the district scorecard. 

"Women are key in social economic development and the government support has continuously improved lives since we are the light and pillars of household income and prosperity." She said.
Cheptoek cautioned groups that have bad records in terms of performances, she says this affects proper planning as a district and the country as well.
"Mbale is not doing well as far as repayments are concerned," she stressed during the financial management meeting at council hall.
Bayole Stanley, the Resident District Commissioner, warned of paced arrests to beneficiaries not complying to pay back on time.
"My tenure in office will not tolerate those who sabotage government programs by misusing or refusing to follow proper guidelines on projects undertaken." His remarks captivated participants.

Bayole called for adherence and transparency on recoveries for those planning to default, he says "government is putting money in programs that can change lives and economic status in the years to come where every hardworking citizen belongs." He noted.
Wanakina George Davidson, the district production and marketing officer took participants in a thrilling session by bringing three factors in play to achieve as a beneficiary. He said making a right enterprise with sufficient funds sets the pace for income and continuity in business and profits guaranteed.
He says business risks and uncertainties prepare one's conscience for such occurrences, there must insurance for the businesses to avoid loses without compensation.
Lastly, he anticipated that one follows a better business aspect to harness profits in the shortest time, saying, this is good for consistency and returns.
However, he cautioned individuals not to carry out businesses in excitement but plan well to tap opportunities in markets for life changing visions.
