Uganda and Tanzania are set to begin crude oil exports through the $5 billion East African Crude Oil Pipeline by October. 

Stretching over 1,400km, it will be the world’s longest heated crude pipeline, carrying up to 230,000 barrels per day.

Mbale district monitoring and supervision team in an inclusive composure, continued to assese the works of NOSP community access road spanning from Bungokho to Bumbobi respectively. The team compromised of political and technical stakeholders with the presence of Deputy resident commissioner, Nakawala Naume as mandated by the President. The composition at Bungokho Sub county yielded numbers for the day's activity as Chris Mafabi, the sub county chairman shared his findings with Monitoring and supervision lead team. According to the Site Engineer Magola Stanley, said that the 11.6Kms  work progress stands at 45% including site clearing, bush clearing, graveling,  drainage system and Arch bridge construction at 80%. In ensuring adequate accountability and sector developments are achievable, Several projects have been aligned to lower local governments and urban centres under the water office to guarantee safe and clean water, health on staff quarters to provide safe and quality care for both mothers and new born babies, and in the education department, to ensure learners' environment is sound and meaningful with proper hygiene and Sanitation. Mbale district local government continues to plan and appropriate funds to areas with need but also improving the services across the district. Several sites were handed over to contractors meeting the requirements to execute works in accordance to project costings and complete the works in time since 75% of funds are already in the district account. The Local government public accounts committee of mbale district stepped out for monitoring exercise on the projects assessed in the financial years  2023/2024  and 2024/2025 respectively. Mbale district local government consists of 14 sub counties and three town councils as lower local government units and rural urban centres respectively. With consolidated funds from government, the "Wanachi" meaning the netizens receive the funding through respective ministries in terms of service delivery at village, parish and sub county levels.
