Police in Mbale City have impounded eleven jerrycans of aviation fuel* .

Samuel Asiimwe, the Elgon Region Police Commander says that an operation aimed at curbing illegal trading of aviation fuel in Mbale City led to the successful impounding of the eleven jerry cans of aviation fuel.

Assiimwe says that despite the impounding of the aviation fuel, no arrests have been made.

Aviation fuel is reportedly sold between 30,000 to 50,000 shillings on the black market. The impounded aviation fuel is being kept at Mbale Central Police Station.

Mbale district monitoring and supervision team in an inclusive composure, continued to assese the works of NOSP community access road spanning from Bungokho to Bumbobi respectively. Eastern Uganda, On Mental Health! Stakeholders from both Mbale districit and City attended a one meeting at lukhobo hall on Friday March 2025 this week. StrongMinds Uganda,  organized the dissemination of the Mental Health Scorecard for Schools and Health Facilities to key stakeholders in several districts including Mbale city and Mbale district. This event aimed to promote mental health awareness and integration in schools and health facilities. The scorecard is a tool designed to track and evaluate the quality of mental health services in these settings. By sharing this tool with key stakeholders, we hoped to improve service delivery and ensure that mental health services are accessible and effective. The Local government public accounts committee of mbale district stepped out for monitoring exercise on the projects assessed in the financial years  2023/2024  and 2024/2025 respectively.
