KIGEZI TEENS MGAZINE 4TH EDITION LAUNCHED AND ALL AWARD WINNERS UNVEILED.
Kigezi Teens magazine 4th edition aimed at “Empowering the youth and transforming lives of the young generation” was officially launched on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, as it seeks to continue extending youthful programs across Western Uganda.
The function held at White Horse Inn, Kabale, Western Uganda was presided over by Prof. Charles Kwesiga, Chief Executive Director-Uganda Industrial Research Institute as the Chief Guest, among other dignitaries.
Speaking at the launch as the Guest of honour, Prof. Kwesiga encouraged all the youth to start changing their mindset, be disciplined and focus on hard work to get a bright future, reminded the youth to stop looking at people’s success but rather look at the background of people’s success to learn the steps to those peoples success. He also appreciated the team for the work well done and pledged full support in all activites that we lways have.
Prof. Kwesiga further promised to always fully support the magazine and all the youth in Kigezi doing great work in Kigezi region.
Dr Protazio Begummisa who’s the NRM flag bearer for Ndorwa East appreciated the good work done by the magazine team and promised to always support whenever such activities happen. He further advised the youth to work hard and always be disciplined in order to achieve.
Hon Joseph Mutebile, hopeful MP for Kabale Municipality advised youth to alwas participate in such programs as one way of chasing iddleness among young people that would result into all sorts of indiscpline. He further requested for youth support towards the next elections where he is eying the MP seat for Kabale Municipality in 2026.
Counsrl Wilbroad Rwamunahe, asprant LC5 Chairman for Kabale District appreciated the great work done by the team and pledged full support whenerver such activities happen. He further requestd the youth to support him in the coming elections where he is contesting as the LC5 c/m Kbale district.
Aunt Enid Origumisiriza applauded the team and encouraged teens to love God, always be prayerful and use their talents to create a positive impact in the community. She pledged full support and requested the youth to vote her in the coming elctions where she is eying the woman MP seat for Kabale district.
Chairman Sam congraculated all winners and promised to always support such teens initiatives. He also requested the youth to support him in the forthcoming elections where he will be contesting as the mayor for kabale municipality.
Mrs Kyomugisha Trust, a radio presenter &news anchor at Voice of Kigezi apprecited the teens for the worl well done and promised to always attend whenever invited.
She further requested youth to support her in the coming elcetions where she will be contesting as the Woman MP for Kabale district.
Mr Eddy Nahwera, the Founder of Kigezi Teens Magazine thanked the sponsors and different stakeholders for their effortless contribution towards the completion of the magazine’s fourth edition.
He in particular singled out Prof. Kwesiga for always supporting youth projects in the region, and for supporting youth empowerment throughout the whole country and across. He further appreciated Prof Charles for granting them a trip to the Uganda Industrial Research Institute where teens get an opportunity to learn and discover new skills.
Mr Nahwera requested the government to fully support such youth initiatives for the betterment of the young people in Kigezi and Uganda at large.
“We request the government to always include influential youth at every stage of government programs so that our grievances can be represented better as the youth. Their team releases annual editions and they call upon the participation and involvement of all the youth in their different activities and work. We need more sponsors, donors and funds to keep us doing this good work since we release annual editions and are committed to organising such functions every year to motivate the youth.”
“Meaningfully engaging young people is the first step to the realization of our rights and the need to change our society,” he concluded.
The Kigezi Teens Awards 2023
The awarding ceremony, a subsidiary program and an annual event that combines all youth collectively from every region of Kigezi held on the same night attracted more than 500 people from greater Kigezi and others from Central and other parts of Uganda.
Kigezi Teens Awards/Magazine 2024 launched
Organized with the main aim of encouraging hard work and recognizing achievements among the youth in different fields, the awards saw a total number of 20 categories.
