BUSIU PDM BENEFICIARIES CASTED AS LIARS DURING MONITORING
Marking another day of PDM monitoring exercise, the district PDM core team continues to unearth the true implications of parish development money to a last mile person.
The district production and marketing officer, Wanakina George Davidson repelled on the goals of PDM, encompassing wealth creation, employment opportunities, household income and welfare of valnerables.
Wanakina the DPMO of Mbale District asserted that the government of Uganda has the mandate to raise household standards of living by empowering communities at parish level with
Uganda as a nation, looks at the population with productivity strength making the majority active fully engaged.
Following the president's directive to ensure household income increases, the valnerables also attach value on the current entire population productivity scores
It's upon this background that PDM program stay the anticipated income growth circulating in the whole country.
Mbale District local government with the current leadership continue to echo government's priorities in building a meaningful and vibrant economy starting with mindset change in projection of middle income status by 2040.
Communities continue to entrench and participate in various government programs with low esteem.
Busiu main and the town council PDM beneficiaries have been mapped for relactant participation in parish development model segments, desiring to do more of advocacy on economic perspectives to alleviate poverty stretching below average income earners.
More is needed in addressing these programs since the beneficiaries seem unprepared to harness the milestone from government initiative to money economy at household level.
Pande Peter from Alpha ward got money under poultry but reports that he bought a heifer at 900k but indicators had it that he just requested a neighbour to lend him a cow that he showed us
However, Khalayi Caroline also from Mabanga ward got one million, bought 4 piglets (2 male and 2 female) and feeds. She is the only farmer who had invested money in what she planned for. She was advised to get an improved breed of the male to mate the local cross breeds.
