2ND PHASE PDM BENEFICIARIES IN BUNGOKHO SUB COUNTY DEVIATED

In regard to agreed and planned enterprises for the second phase PDM beneficiaries in Bungokho sub county, 95% of the beneficiaries have not followed the selected enterprises.

Namutosi Harriet, a rice 🌾 grower in Wambewo tubana village group, informed the district PDM core team that she was able to hire land in preparation to rice growing and the rest of the money was spent on pesticides for hot culture and a cow she bought.

She intends to plant more rice and increase household income which is projected to improve the lives
Namutosi says "there are no challenges yet because what she is  doing is her daily activities". She adds that she is not only dwelling in the things mentioned above but also in hot culture with tomato growing.
She is inspired to become a model farmer and promises to reflect during recovery period...
Kimanayi Ernest, a hot culture farmer from Wambewo hot culture pdm group Sacco.
He says they farm a variety of items like tomatoes, onions and cabbages
"As for now, I am using it to run the beverage shop as I wait for the right season" He said.
Nambuya Petwa, still an entrepreneur of soya and beans, says the growers group initiative is to improve household income by equally participating.
"For the meantime, I have used some money to get piglets, and and seed preparing for the right season"

The district agriculture officer, Nabirye Rose, encouraged pdm beneficiaries to stick the choices they acquired the funds for, she made this call at one farmer Nambuya Petwa while assessing the household enterprise 
Wambaya Samiri, Soya farmer but went ahead to buy piglets and hire land for growing rice 🌾
Wambibi Ronald, received 980.000/= as an individual in khamoto farmers soya group. 
Wambibi had thought of farming soya but decided to hire land for rice farming at 600k an acre and the another acre at 250k for maize and soya.
DAO while making her last visit, reminded the household beneficiary that she was checking out to ascertain whether farmers got enough guidance and skills inline with the agreed enterprises 

Wamwangu Geresom, who had specialized in soya is confident the money will be recovered back since his priority will earn him enough to be able to take back the government money.
He says he hasn't gotten any challenge but sure the weather will be favourable.
