Untold journey while I served

Ilaleit Lindah Ruth is my name aged 32 years. A midwife by profession working with Mbale district local government in eastern region of Uganda. In a line of duty, I started working with Mbale district local government at Jewa health centre III from 2018. It was a hard to reach area with a Muslim affiliated background and presence. The landscape details features of difficult terrain making it uncomparable in the end. The natives had different norms and customs bearing it in mind hard to sensitise them on the new born servant! "Jhpiego", it tendered in the family planning and other services of the modern age!. On my assumption, my presence seemed a posture without meaning, I lived in the strange community without notice, days, months and years passed to unwaivering days and barren hand at service. As a passionate, committed, loving and caring midwife of Busiu H/C IV, Mbale district.    I vow to ensure that no mother dies in my hands of excessive bleeding that's why I start preventing from Antenatal until six weeks postpartum.  **DURING ANTENATAL.*   *1.IDENTIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT OF RISK FACTORS.**  I make sure that all pregnant mothers are assessed for risk factors i.e past obstetrical history of P.P.H, multiple pregnancy, uterine fibroids, placenta praevia the importance of how to recognize signs of P.P.H and seek immediate healthcare and it's conducted in sessions since some mother's come late and end up missing the information. 2. *PREVENTION OF* *MALARIA **  *AND** *ANAEMIA.**   I ensure that no mother is anaemic by encouraging mother's to eat iron rich foods and swallow ferrous sulfate tabs daily and pyrimethamine sulfadoxine DOT in ANC.  3. *FAMILY PLANNING VS* *HIGH PARITY .*   As amaster coach of f...

Formed to free Africa from the vestiges of colonial domination, it too often remains constrained by the very boundaries and governance models it inherited. True liberation requires more than economic forecasts or continental summits; it demands re-centering African cultures, histories, and ancestral wisdom in the way we govern ourselves. Research On Women Displaced By Climate Change Begins In Mbale

Five study sub counties in Mbale district local government have been identified as areas of interest on national climate policies and local level implementation. The research focuses on localising national gender and climate policy in Uganda with a partnership from The British Academy in the United Kingdom through Nottingham Trent University, Makerere University and Women international peace centre. These sub counties include Wanale, Busano, Bubyangu, Bungokho and lukhonge. Among these objectives, there is need to analyse the social, institutional, and structural obstacles preventing women and marginalised groups from participating in climate decision making processes at local and national level. Uganda is witnessed as the 13th most vulnerable country to impact change reflecting it's harsh effects on women and other marginalised groups. The Concept of Musevenomics is a hybrid of the perceived age since 1980 s, this brings a readers inclinations and perceptions on economic persuasion underlying the steady progress of this nation to middle income forecasted at 2040 . Dr. Katende Edward, the brain behind PDM highlighted the achievements of Musevenomics as abasement some economists came up with philosophy as a doctrine. Cordiad Collaboration with Local Governments: Mbale District On Progress!

Cordaid's work in Uganda, includes programmes on humanitarian assistance, sustainable agri-food systems, health care, and education. The organization has been active in Uganda for over 26 years.  The organization is currently implementing a 5-year project from 2023 – 2028; the Agricultural Governance Results Improvement Project (A-GRIP), with funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Soyabean seed project an incentive to farmers in Mbale district.

Musibikha Juliet from buwalasi parish, Busiu Sub county shared a successful story amidst biting challenges, citing improved household income, adequate food security and steady progress as far as Soyabean and ground nuts farming is changing lives of her group members. This was revealed during our weekend edition interview on one on one. Musibikha in her words spotted the challenges though she says the production department of Mbale district local government has been instrumental towards better yield.
