2ND PHASE PDM BENEFICIARIES IN BUNGOKHO SUB COUNTY DEVIATED

In regard to agreed and planned enterprises for the second phase PDM beneficiaries in Bungokho sub county, 95% of the beneficiaries have not followed the selected enterprises. Namutosi Harriet, a rice 🌾 grower in Wambewo tubana village group, informed the district PDM core team that she was able to hire land in preparation to rice growing and the rest of the money was spent on pesticides for hot culture and a cow she bought. PDM MONITORING IN BUKIENDE SUB COUNTY, BENEFICIARIES STEADILY YIELDING!

After the 1st and 2nd disbursements of PDM monies to all beneficiaries in Mbale district hit 100%, the district PDM core team started it's progress to monitor and assess households on entrepreneurships registered on its inception. The impact is seemingly carrying successful stories so far, as beneficiaries begin to reflect on the second phase for which they are to invest in pillar one, production, storage, value addition and marketing.   The need to ascertain use of the use of funds is key for the success of the approach. Bukiende Sub county consist of 7 Parishes all matching at 100%, for both first and second phase. SCHOOLS' HYGIENE AND AND SANITATION PROJECTED AT 90% IN MBALE DISTRICT.

In preparation for 1st term school opening, the education department in Mbale District local government has ensured contractors work out final touches on construction of additional pit latrines and classroom blocks on the schools prioritized under funding by government. The office of the president led by DRDC Nakawala Naume presided over the commissioning of several primary schools constructed with fully functional 5 stance pit latrines. Two classroom block estimated at 77 Ugx. million shillings was commissioned at Rongoro primary school ending FY 2021/ 2022.  The school management led by the Headteacher  Ms. Musibikha Esther twikled with endless smiles thanked the district leadership together with education department for continuous support which has not only adequately contained the school population but improved performances.
